Kerry manager Jack O’Connor credited his team for what he felt was “a more-rounded performance” in yesterday’s All-Ireland SFC semi-final victory against Tyrone.

The Kingdom’s supremo was comparing his side’s performance to their last outing against Armagh when they lit up in a remarkable 15-minute second-half spell at Croke Park to dethrone the All-Ireland champions.

Speaking to RTE Sport after yesterday’s 1-20 to 0-17 win over the Red Hands, O’Connor praised his players for a better display over the entire 70 minutes at HQ, singling out ‘Man of the Match’ Joe O’Connor in particular.

"It was a more rounded performance because I thought that spell against Armagh was a bit freakish,” said the four-time All-Ireland winning boss.

"It was like they just couldn't get their kickout away and we kept the ball up that end of the field.

"I think this was a more-rounded performance because Tyrone are very big around the middle of the field, Kennedy and Kilpatrick are big men and they have a lot of targets, and Morgan has a serious weapon of a kickout.

"The two boys (O'Shea and O'Brien) plugged away great for most of the game, and then Joe (O’Connor) finished up midfield and what a game Joe had.

"Powerful game, he is getting better all the time."
